Santa Marina wines are the truest expression of quality and passion born from long standing techniques and traditions hailing from some of the most renowned regions in Italy: Delle Venezie, Tuscany, Provincia di Pavia, and the Prosecco DOC. This delicious wine is light to medium bodied with a soft palate, followed by a crisp, dry finish. Pairs well with Italian antipasti, pastas and risottos with freshly made sauce, branzino, salmon and other seafood. Producer Information The Via Santa Marina is located around 12 kilometres away from Merida, right next to the La Plata Highway. It was founded in 1999 by Alvaro de Alvear, CEO of Alvear Group for more than 40 years and belonging to one of the oldest wine families in Spain, producing wines since 1723. Today, Vina Santa Maria is a family project producing boutique wines in an outstanding environment: an extension of 200 hectares, dragged at the foot of the Sierra de la Moneda, with 80 hectares of perfectly preserved Mediterranean forest with holm oaks, cork oaks, olive trees, jars and a vast variety of shrubs that embellish this estate. They are one of the few wineries producing a 100% Viognier late harvest and were the first winery in Spain to produce a blending of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
